Bronze Star Medal - The
Bronze Star Medal may be awarded to individuals who, while serving in any
capacity with the Armed Forces of the United States in a combat theater,
distinguish themselves by heroism, outstanding achievement, or by meritorious
service not involving aerial flight. I received two Bronze Stars during my
Vietnam service. Both were for meritorious service in the combat zone.
The star on my ribbon shows, that it was a second award of that
decoration. If it had been awarded for valorous or heroic actions, it
would have had a letter V attached to the ribbon.
