2 OCT 1968Dear Mom and Dad,
I don't know why, but we haven't gotten any mail for several weeks. I found an article on
mail service; you might ask about it at the Post Office. You should see me now, no ribs! I've gained about 20
pounds, solid muscle. I guess I'll have this cold all the time I'm over here. It doesn't bother me, except when we
hump (walk with rucksacks). Then I have to breath through my mouth, and your throat can really get dry.
I sent home a $150 treasury check for dad to deposit for me. I would also like for you to copy and send the copy of
my bank statement to me. I would like checks cashed and dates, deposits and dates, and balance on hand and date.
Things over all are pretty quiet here right now. We get probes on the camp every night, but so far they haven't
tried anything.
Got to go in a few minutes and attend a meeting, so bye for now,
Love,
Homer
